One afternoon, I helped Mom bake cookies in the kitchen. Mom gave me a big bowl and showed me how to mix the ingredients. We added flour, sugar, butter, and a pinch of salt. I used a wooden spoon to stir everything together. It started to look like cookie dough, and it smelled so sweet! Mom gave me small pieces of chocolate to add to the dough. I put the chocolate chips in and mixed them carefully. Then, we rolled the dough into small balls and placed them on a baking tray. I tried to make my cookies round, but some looked funny! Mom put the tray in the oven, and we waited for the cookies to bake. The kitchen smelled so good while the cookies were baking. I could not wait to taste them! Mom took the cookies out of the oven, and we let them cool. I tasted one, and it was warm and delicious! I shared the cookies with Dad and my little brother. Everyone said the cookies were yummy. Baking cookies with Mom was so much fun. I hope we can bake more cookies next weekend. Next time, I want to make cookies shaped like stars!
