PET – PRELIMINARY ENGLISH TEST
Cambridge English Preliminary for Schools is at Level B1 of the CEFR. There are two types of tests namely:
- Preliminary for schools
- Cambridge English Preliminary
The test includes exactly the same question types and tasks. English in everyday situations are used in both the tests. These tests can be taken as a paper-based or Computer- based test.
PET Examination is conducted globally six times a year. The examination assesses the four language skills Listening, Reading and writing, and speaking as per the standards of the CEFR benchmark. The students get certified by either Cambridge or British Council as per the examination centre allotted to the nodal partner. The speaking test will happen live with an Examiner and an interlocutor. It is a pairing examination of two candidates.
All the successful candidates receive a certificate awarded by University of Cambridge ESOL Examination. All the students receive a statement of results showing how they performed in the examination.
The certificates are recognised by employers in several countries and Universities. Few Universities also recognise PET for Schools as an initial qualification in English.
Course duration: 3 months.
Weekly: 2 sessions (Mon to Sat).
